We all know what it is and that it is good for us. Do we do it as often as our body needs it? Most people do not. Let our therapists assist you with improving range of motion and muscle flexibility. Some things are better when others do it for us. Stretching is one of those things.
Deep Tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity, such as athletes, and patients who have sustained physical injury. It is also not uncommon for receivers of Deep Tissue Massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two. Deep tissue work varies greatly. What one calls deep pressure, another may call light pressure. When receiving deep tissue work it is important to communicate what you are feeling with your therapist.
This type of massage focuses on areas of muscle tissues that develop “knots” of tension, called trigger points. Trigger points are generally created by injury or overuse and can radiate pain to other parts of the body.
This is the “feel good” massage. It is a full body massage that uses long, flowing strokes, kneading and deep circular movements to help you feel relaxed, energized and invigorated; a great stress reliever.
As a mother of twins, Dr. Prado knew the value and importance of massages during and even after her pregnancy.
